About Me

Hello! Welcome to my blog! A quick overview isn't ever easy nor adequate; however, here is a little about me.

I grew up an Air Force brat and am proud to have two parents and many more family members who have served my country and their community. After living in two states and two foreign countries, I have a deep appreciation for travel and stand amazed at nature. All my life I struggled with various health issues, most of which clustered around the beginning of my high school years. Through a vast amount of research and multiple elimination diets, I discovered that I have food allergies. After high school, I studied for my certification in Nutritional Counseling in hopes of not only helping myself, but also being prepared to help my future family. Meanwhile, I picked up baking as a hobby which then opened a can of skills I had no idea I was blessed with. Baking is challenging, relaxing but most of all, fulfilling. I get to make people smile and help bring people together in celebration!

In December 2015, I married the man of my dreams! Our story is unique and can be found in great detail deep within this blog. I am very proud to be his wife and to be growing as a couple according to God's plans for us. He also grew up as an Air Force brat and has a brother currently enlisted. Many of the men in his family either served in the military, were law enforcement or prison guards. I guess all of that has something to do with his desire to protect his community! I could not be more proud of his accomplishments and drive to fulfill his calling.

Speaking of callings, I truly believe we all have one or two. Some are clear and specific, others are generalized and modifiable to a need at hand. I believe these callings come from our Creator. We are not here by chance, nor by coincidence. We have a purpose and God has a plan. Both good and evil are meant to bring Him glory.

Lamentations 3:22-23

"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."

Our little family has many trials behind us and even more ahead but with my God and my husband, I know I can make it through to share His faithfulness with others. I am a firm believer that I am not here for myself. My life is not to create memories of my own, enjoy freedom, nor to establish a grandiose life of luxury. My calling is one of love and nurturing. If you ask me, it's the calling that cannot be fulfilled without both joy and sorrow but at the end of the day, I do it to see the smiles, to hear the stories, and know that I help someone.

I pray that through this blog, you can seek answers and relief both for your physical as well as your spiritual body. We all need to be refreshed and reminded of the simpler things in life. May this blog bless you as may you too come to find your Joy Through the Valley.
